Okay. So my girlfriend and I were looking for a place to eat and we decided on dumplings. By the time we arrived to Ai... Dumpling, we were kinda sceptical about the quality of the food from how the place looked like. What this place showed us was to not judge a book by its cover. The owner was really kind and nice, the music (Marvin Gaye) set a really nice mood and the quality of the dumplings, fresh, were better than expected. You can taste the homemade dumpling wrappers easily. Price was not too bad, and the black vinegar is a really nice compliment with the soy sauce. Will come back soon. Love the staff. I ordered 15 vegetarian dumplings from there through Uber and got a seafood dumpling and I couldn't even contact them... to solve it because their line was busy and I just kept calling and never got through. I should at least get a free meal for that but I can't even contact them so maybe they should get a second line if they're that busy or hire more peopleread more

I was on UberEat, made an order and they acepted it.. I waited nearly an hour and half to realise they closed the... restaurant at 4:00 am ! The order got placed and accepted around 04:00 am and 04:05 am! They never made my order while saying they did, and had to pay for an order I never received. Food was great but they forgot to give my friend a spoon for her wonton soup (10/10 by the way, not sure what Christten... was talking about) so she had to eat it with a knife. Seeing as they only do takeout after a certain hour, it was definitely not the ideal situation as we ended up having to eat in the car, which naturally led to a little mess since my friend is a little bit (or rather very) clumsy. Despite all of this, in the end, everything worked out and it ended up being quite a memorable experience. 10/10 would dumpling again.read more

Their website seems to have Spyware/ malware, so I don't recommend going to their web site. Their restaurant appears to... be infested with spiders from past visits to pick up food. Aside from that, their food tastes good, their prices are good, and they're open late.read more

Dumplings are tasty however the lack of consistency is my reason for such a poor rating. I’ve ordered dumplings here... maybe 6 times and 4/6 times my dumplings have been burnt. The first couple times the owner would serve them to me without saying a word about them being burnt and I would only find out once i go home (i get takeout). There’s even been times when I come in and he admits to burning my dumplings and showed them to me hoping that i would be willing to take them home like that. I quite honestly don’t understand how the business owners are comfortable serving someone BURNT food. I’ve also ordered via uber before and paid extra to have the dumplings fried, and when they came they weren’t even fried. I’m a good customer, I’m very patient and i tip well and yet there’s no compensation for my burnt food, no lack of accountability when it comes to poor customer service. I’d rather offer my business elsewhere to someone that is going to have enough common sense to not burn my food every time i order it.read more

Found this place cuz we went for chicken across the street and damn are we glad we found it. I once ordered from here because i used to like it since it was so close and had decent dumplings. I always get the... pork dumplings, but as i was eating one, suddenly something hard made my tooth chip, which i cant afford to get fixed and still bothers me. Ive also many times found steel wool in my dumplings. Please dont eat here for your health and safetyread more

Went last night. Had beef curry fried, pork coriander and shrimp fried and pork green onion steamed. All were... fantastic. Taste and quality are excellent. They make everything on the spot and cook it the second they're made. No complaints at all for the food. My new favorite dumpling place outside of downtown.Small place though and gets hot but they open the door a little which works just fine. Doesnt take long to vent a little restaurant like that.Will definitely go again without a doubt.read more

I really like this place - a small family business located in a hole-in-the-wall on Somerled Ave. You can watch the... dumplings being made before your eyes - the filling being put into the dough and then expertly wrapped for either steaming or frying. Excellent little dumpling spot tucked away in NDG, but well worth a visit. Quiet, cozy, but a very welcoming staff.... I've tried most of their menu and have yet to be disappointed. Particular favourites are the pork, coriander, & shrimp, and pork & scallop. The entrées are tasty, too, especially the tofu salad. Definitely worth trying.read more

Very good, fresh dumplings made here. At least 2 dozen different types of dumplings with ingredients like beef,... chicken, lamb, pork, curry, coriander, chive & many more. Can get them fried or steamed. Small place so try to go on an off time like during the week. They also do online orders for pick up. So far my favorite is fried pork & green onion. Plan on many more visits to try them all!read more

We were very surprised by the quality of the food. The dumplings are made fresh. There were two ladies making the... dumplings near us. We ordered beef and onion, and shrimp dumplings. We also asked for pork and cabbage dumplings. My favorite were the shrimp ones. They are very well made well filled too. If you like dumplings, I highly suggest you visit Ai. I visited on February 2019. This restaurant can accomodate 20 customers on 7 tables. Be prepared for a long wait... because they make the dumplings by hand on-site and custom to order, and also because they also dispatch deliveries and take-out orders while you are seated. Good quality food and well presented. The ambiance is casual with soft relaxing music. I saw books for children and other distractions to pass time. Major credit cards are accepted. It didn't seem to me accessible friendly (entrance, floor plan). They have a good product but if they want to grow the business it is my opinion they will need to have a serious look at their operating model and find a way to speed-up the service without compromising on quality. - End.read more

I had an excellent experience with a take out order the first time we went there and the dumplings were delicious. The... next time was not so great, we ordered online and got a confirmation with an order number and when we got there (it was a 15 minutes drive for us) they told us that they didn’t receive our order and that we would have to wait 30 minutes to get our food, even if we showed them the confirmation on our phone. Very disappointed with their service, in these circumstances we would have expected them to correct this mistake and prioritize our order. Will not go back again.read more

We went in on a Friday night and the tiny place was getting slammed with takeout orders. Best dumplings in the area by... far as you can watch them being created in front of you. They were overwhelmed when we were there and forgot to take our order for 20 mins. Certainly not the owners fault, but it was like eating in a daycare with screaming kids and indifferent parents. ruined a otherwise great meal. Place only holds about 20 people, so best to go off hours if you want to sit.read more

Our favs are the carrot salad, the chicken & coriander and pork & cabbage. 15 dumplings per batch for a great price. The staff is really nice and friendly. Just go for it!!read more
